The Mundaneum is an experiment in nostalgia, amateur librarianship, and mail art.

We here at the Mundaneum have a large personal library of 20th-century nonfiction books, magazines, and informational pamphlets that are fun to look at and fascinating to read. We don't want to hog them all to ourselves so we've started this handy research service, all free of charge. How it works is, you just tell us in this form below what you're interested in, and your mailing address, and we will scour the archives researching your subject. Once we've found a, um, relevant article we will mail it to you, old-fashioned-style!

subject that interests you (really, anything):
your mailing address (I won't tell anyone):

The Mundaneum is also a monthly newsletter highlighting articles, photos, and advertisements from the collection. You know how college libraries sometimes put out a newsletter? That's the idea here. These mailings are part serious research, part art experiment, or whatever, and they're meant to be funny but they should also provide an interesting and useful look at life in the 20th century. If you'd like to have the newsletter sent to you at home, you may purchase a six-month subscription from my shop for $6 plus postage.
